Simple yet comforting, each apple is filled with juicy dried fruit, cinnamon and orange, then baked low and slow in your Nuovva Cast Iron Dutch Oven until soft and caramelised.
It takes just minutes to prepare and tastes just like home. Whether you’re cooking after a Sunday roast or making a cosy midweek dessert, this is about to become your go-to snack.
Best served warm with custard or ice cream melting over the top. Enjoy pure comfort.
Ingredients:
- 6 large Bramley apples
- 100g raisins/sultanas or other mixed dried fruit
- 1 orange (zest only)
- 1 orange (juiced)
- 50g brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Step 1) Preheat your oven to 180°C.
Step 2) Core the apples and place them standing upright in your Nuovva® Dutch Oven.
Step 3) In a bowl, mix together the dried fruit, brown sugar, cinnamon and orange zest & juice.
Step 4) Spoon the mixture into the centre of each cored apple until filled.
Step 5) Pour any remaining orange juice mixture into the bottom of the pan to help steam and soften the apples.
Step 6) Cover the Dutch Oven with the lid and bake for 20 minutes.
Step 7) Remove the lid and bake for a further 10 minutes until the apples are soft and slightly golden.
TIP: Do not over-bake or the apples may split.
